How to keep your Natural Hair soft

Natural hair can be so beautiful but hard and problematic to maintain if you ain't treating it the way it should be treated.

Are you thinking of going natural or you're already natural and you find it hard to maintain it? Here's the Goodnews for you - natural hair sister....

Ditch the old myth
Yeah, that old myth of natural hair is so hard and can never be soft no matter how you maintain it.....Awww! What a pity! Are you really ready to go natural? Of course, it can be hard but there are ways and treatments to make that hair soft and you don't have to spend all your savings for that purpose.

Moisturize Always
That beautiful kinky hair of yours needs moisture. You can't expect your hair to grow and be soft when it's frizzy, this can lead to breakage. A plant can't survive without it being watered, so does your hair as well. Get a spray bottle, spritz your hair once or twice everyday. A moisture of water, olive oil or coconut oil and glycerin will do. Even if you have extensions on, still do the daily spritz on your hairline. You should use a sulfate free shampoo and a leave-in conditioner as well.

Seal in moisture
You might be wondering what this is all about. It's not as technical as it sounds. It's as simple as  applying a butter based cream on your hair after moisturizing. Doing this will prevent evaporation of moisture from your hair especially when you're out.

Do Deep conditioning
Yes, doing this will definitely make your hair soft. Its known to work on hair textures like magic. Remember, consistency is key in whatever you're doing. There are different deep conditioning treatments. Check these Benefits of deep conditioning and DIY deep conditioners.

Let me just list out some other tips you need to maintain a soft natural hair.

Benefits of using Denman Brush for Natural Hair

What is a Denman Brush? It's a detangling tool for curly or kinky hair which is used mainly on natural hair types 3C and type 4(A, B, C) hair when wet, which helps achieve curl definition. Some Denman Brushes come with different rows of bristles. Though it's best to purchase a brush that uses 5 - 7 rows of bristles for your natural hair. You can also modify the hair brush by removing row of bristles, if you feel the rows are too much for your hair. But make sure you're using the brush gently on your hair to avoid unnecessary hair pulling. A Denman Brush distributes hair products evenly in your hair. Note that, no matter what detangling tool you use on your hair, you must use a conditioner with it, so as to allow the tool slide through your hair easily.  It's best to section your hair before detangling and while detangling, start from the end of your hair and slowly work your way to the roots.
